I’ve been passionate about skincare for many years, so creating my own skincare treatment salon and cosmetics range has been a fantastic journey. Here’s how it all began...
Back in 2012 I was working as a sales rep in my husband’s business. After 17 years, we decided my role was no longer needed, so I was redundant. It was time to navigate a new path, but I was already certain of my decision.
I finally had a reason to follow my dream: the pursuit of natural skincare. My mission? To provide personalised beauty treatments and help slow the process of growing older, whilst still ageing gracefully.
I began by self-funding two private training courses: microdermabrasion and A-lift facials. It was important to me to research courses that would really benefit my clients. Everyone deserves to feel happy within their own skin, and I wanted to champion non-invasive, non-surgical treatments.
My next specialist treatment to expand my skills was LED Lumineo Light Therapy, alongside other treatments such as waxing, brow tint & tidy, and facials. During my training I had the added treat of working within my daughter’s Maidstone beauty salon, Beaus & Belles, to gain experience. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new and regular clients, all the while helping them to feel fantastic.
I believe having a great work/life balance is really important, and this was part of my decision to set up my own home-based salon a few years later. I’m delighted to welcome clients for their exclusive treatments, and to see them relax and enjoy their own VIP experience.
Microdermabrasion, A lift Facials and LED Lumineo Light Therapy are still my most popular skincare treatments, now in my very own salon, Simply Be Skincare. My old work alongside my husband seems like a life away now. To this day, we’re still happily married, and I’m so grateful for my husband’s encouragement to go for it!
Where did Simply Be Skincare products come in?
I used many different cosmetics brands and products, both on myself and clients for many years, and I became increasingly frustrated by the mismatches on the market.
Clients would often ask me for recommendations of products to use at home to complement their regular skincare treatments. My shelves were an assortment of Tropic, The Body Shop & Neals Yard. Each one offered something special, but no sooner did I find the perfect product, it became out of stock, or worse, discontinued.
It took a global pandemic to bring a revelation
What if there was just one go to brand that had everything I needed?
Affordable, Natural, Ethical. A range to encompass all the elements I knew would work for my clients.
What if I created my own branded skincare products?
My light-bulb moment! As a passionate skincare specialist with the desire to help everyone look younger for longer, I set to work.
After extensive research and development, Simply Be Skincare was born. And that’s where we are today. My capsule range of natural skincare products, designed for you.
